India Film Project 2016 is all set to woo the film making fanatics – Asia’s largest filmmaking challenge, IFP 2016 has entered Mumbai and is definitely here to stay!

Mumbai:  Time to toil and rack your brains to brew a perfect film is here! Yes, we are talking about India Film Project which is back with a bang with scaled up challenges and opportunities. India Film Project, Asia’s largest film festival challenge, encourages people to make films and this year will be its sixth edition. IFP is one of the rare platforms, which is focused at content creation rather than content consumption. The grand film event has now moved to the film making capital of country, Mumbai and will be held on October 01 at Hall 6, NESCO Goregaon.

The prestigious India Film Project is a filmmaking challenge with a twist where participants from across the globe create a film on a given theme but in a time-limit of 50 hours, starting from September 16, 8pm to September 18, 10pm. The teams will script, shoot, edit and upload the films, which post the submission will be viewed by an unparalleled jury. The winning films will be showcased at different festivals globally. The event will also witness some of the best content creators on one, huge, prominent platform, the schedule of which shall be announced shortly.

IFP 2016 Highlights:

  • The upcoming IFP 2016 festival will see a confluence of India’s best filmmakers coming together under one roof. More than 5000 filmmakers from different cities will fly down to attend this gala
  • The number of applicants in the sixth edition of IFP is expected to be higher than the combined number of the previous 5 editions
  • 590+ teams, comprising of 10,500 filmmakers, have already registered for IFP 2016 and the number is estimated to multiply in another 10 days
  • 1300 teams comprising of 25,000 participating filmmakers from across the globe will ferment films on one single theme in 50 hours.
  • The eminent jury for IFP 2016 is comprised of all National Award Winners – Madhur Bhandarkar, Nagesh Kukunoor, Sriram Raghavan and Southern Super director Vetri Maaran
  • A workshop on storytelling by the Terrible Tiny Tales team will also be organized for the selected teams.

Participation Categories:

For a level-headed competition, IFP, this year has segregated participation into Professional Filmmaking, Amateur Filmmaking and Mobile Filmmaking category to ensure competition among similar caliber. Mobile Filmmaking will be introduced for the first time in India through IFP and give access to the masses to make films as well.

Judging Criteria:

Films at IFP 2016 will be judged on the parameters like relevance to theme and genre, storyline, screenplay as well as technical aspects like editing, cinematography and sound

IFP 2016 Grand Award:

The best deserving IFP 2016 Filmmaking teams will be given an honor to create an ad film for the renowned brands of Coca-Cola. IFP will fund each team, ensure quality equipments and make the winners work closely with the Coca-Cola team. The best works will then be showcased by Coca-Cola across its various channels including TV, Digital assets, theatres and many more

IFP in last 5 years:

  • Around 2400+ films have been made by 25,000+ filmmakers in just 50 hours at the festival in the previous five editions of IFP, which comes to 17000+ minutes of super high quality films
  • IFP 2015 saw 730 teams comprising of 14,600 filmmakers. The teams were spread across 182 cities from India and another 17 countries namely US, UK, Dubai, Australia, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Germany, Malaysia, France and many more
  • Participants have joined from 182 cities and towns like Malegaon, Rishikesh to cities such as Bilaspur, Bhavnagar, Ranchi, Lucknow and Madurai to the four metros

Mr. Ritam Bhatnagar, Founder, IFP comments, “In India, Film making has been limited to few and the niche only. With IFP 2016, segregating varied participation categories, there is a fair chance for people to partake in large numbers. I must emphasize that in the last 3-4 years, the ratio of content consumer to content creator has changed drastically. Registration Date, Process and Fee:

  • Registration for the IFP 2016 is open till September 15 midnight via http://bit.ly/ifpwelcome.
  • One has to choose a participating category which cannot be changed later, though details of team members can be edited
  • Each team can accommodate up to 20 members
  • The fee for Professional and Amateur Film Making category is Rs. 2500 per team and Rs. 1000 for Mobile filmmaking category
  • For eligibility in the Professional filmmaking category, the team leader must have worked in capacity of director or producer in 3 or more films, shorts, videos or ads
  • Amateur filmmaking is open to anyone who owns a DSLR camera while Mobile filmmaking is open to all

“Kaul Manacha” Music Launch By Akshay Kumar And Dimple Kapadia !

Marathi movie “Kaul Manacha” music was launched in the presence of bollywood star Akshay Kumar and senior actress Dimple Kapadia.

The launching was held at Novotel Mumbai, a five star hotel near Juhu beach. In  a packed hall, AKshay Kumar had a hearty conversation with journalists. Akshay Kumar and Dimple Kapadia heartily greeted the team of “Kaul Manacha”.

Producer Rajesh Patil, Vithal Rupanvar, Narshi Vasani, director Bhimrao Mude, Rajesh  Shringarpure and other artistes were present.

After watching the trailer of “Kaul Manacha”, AKshay Kumar spoke to the journalists. He said watching the trailer of “Kaul Manacha” filled him with childhood memories. Starting the discussion in Hindi, he effortlessly switched over to Marathi. He narrated an event from his schooldays. He also confessed about his first love during his schooldays, in the presence of his mother-in-law. He said at first view itself the movie was captivating, he said that the movie will be immensely successful on release.

He also expressed his views on the highly successful run of present day Marathi movies. Compared to Bollywood movies Marathi movies are really big. Compared to Bollywood movies, the loss here is very little and the profits are more. Dimple Kapadia was confident that “Kaul Manacha” will definitely get the moviegoers approval. Akshay Kumar And Dimple Kapadia said that the songs and music of the film were very pleasant to listen to.

The lyrics of the film are written by Manoj Yadav and the music is by Rohan-Rohan. A fun-filled song ‘Tik Tok’ is sung by Prajakta Shukre, Rohan Pradhan and Rohan Gokhale. ‘Manmanjiri’ a romantic song is sung by Armaan Malik and Shreya Ghoshal. ‘Kaul niyatishi’ has vocals by Adarsh Shinde.

TOP INDUSTRY EXPERTS DISCUSS TRENDS AND USAGE OF AMERICA’S ORIGINAL SUPERFRUIT, US CRANBERRIES

With the aim to raise awareness and knowledge of US cranberries, the US Cranberry Marketing Committee (CMC) organized a seminar in Mumbai on the versatility, availability and utilization of America’s Original Superfruit™ among industrial ingredient users in India. Rich in Vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, these tiny berries have been favorites among the healthy food lovers for some time now.

Talking about the US cranberry industry and expansion plans in India, Ms. Alyson Segawa, Manager, International Marketing Accounts at Bryant Christie said, “The Indian market offers enormous potential for US cranberries and is being considered one of the most important export markets for the United States. This seminar is our initiative to raise positive awareness of US cranberries among trade.”

The seminar saw participation from over 80 established decision makers from the food and nutrition industry, key opinion makers from the ingredients industry, and culinary experts.  The highlight of the event was an insightful session on the health benefits of US cranberries byNaaznin Husein, President, IDA, Mumbai. The seminar agenda included discussions, presentations and a cooking demonstration of Indian and fusion recipes with US cranberry as the main ingredient.

During the live US cranberry recipe demonstration at the event, celebrated Chef Sabyasachi Gorai said, “US cranberries are an absolute delight to cook with. Lyricist Manoj Muntashir: Phir Kabhi Song Wouldn’t Have Looked Beautiful Without Disha Patani

Disha Patani, who is debuting in Bollywood with M. S. Dhoni’s Biopic, looks ethereal in the first two songs of the movie. Her simple onscreen chemistry with Sushant Singh Rajput looks magical and that’s the reason why the audience is going gaga over it. At latest, the song ‘Phir Kabhi’ lyricist Manoj Muntashir praises the lass for her beautiful onscreen presence in the song.

The colossal beauty Disha is essaying the role of Dhoni’s ex-girlfriend Priyanka Jha and it looks like she left no stone unturned for perfecting her character. Well, Critics and Film Guru’s did like her persona and even fans are adoring her for her onscreen chemistry with Sushant Singh Rajput.Well, even lyricist Manoj Muntashir couldn’t stop himself to pen down some beautiful words for Disha in his tweet. He tweeted,

MARATHI FILM  PREM SANKAT- Due on 14th October all over Maharashtra

Reha Film Productions’ PREM SANKAT (Marathi) which  has been passed by the Censors with UA certificate is all set for release on 14th October  all over Maharashtra.  The film which is a sensitive love story of a young couple whose life turns  miserable without each other’s support was shot in  a 30-day shooting stint held in Silvaasa locales, Gujarat, Film City,Goregaon and Madh Island, Mumbai. The entire post-production work was completed  at After Play.
