Rohit Arora’s directorial debut “The Pickup Artist” makes it to East x Northeast International Film Festival in New York. “I believe we Indians have much more potential than the kind of Cinema we make. I want India to have a place in kickass world cinema, which is not just about villages and biopics which are made mostly because that is what has been expected from India.
I want to change that perception and bring original urban stories to touch people in every part of the world. If a film cannot change the life of a person watching it, this powerful medium is completely wasted.
I have researched and developed my own creative system of storytelling after working on it for the last decade. I am banking on the originality of thought.
The Pickup Artist also marks the feature film debut of Bonnie Chakraborty as a Music Director, who is known for lending his voice for superhit song Emotional Atyachaar (Rock Version) from DevD. The movie also includes songs from a British Musician Andrew Sloman. People at Roar Picture Company call it a “Brainfu*k” movie and strongly advise you to bring your mind along to solve this puzzle presented in the form of a movie.
While the article was being edited, the film also got selected for Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in Mumbai.
