DUBAI 2016 event kicked off with a dazzling fashion show, the first of the 3-series of shows planned for the event this January 2017. 18 handsome young men representing 8 different nationalities participated in this yearly competition. The show saw the contestants do a ramp walk in 3 categories – Street Wear, Beach Wear, and Party Wear.
The very stylish panel of judges were headed by Ms. Eve Jaso, Breakfast radio presenter on 104.8 Channel 4 FM, Ms. Lara Tabet, a well-known TV presenter and producer and host of her own show “Societe”, Ms. Jessica Glunz, founder and managing director of Mostwntd, an events management company, Ms. Ryana Yusoff, a vintage fashion guru, founder and owner of vintage urban wear label Eclectic Room, Mr. Kevin Oliver, a fashion director for the UAE’s top fashion events and Mr. Octavian Bulmaga, Signature event planner and Nightlife and public relations expert.
Ms. Nina Khan said, “The nail-biting grand finale on 27th January will see the contestants in their finest formal wear for the last catwalk before they answer questions with the judges in the dreaded Q&A portion of the show.”
The Mr. Dubai event was founded by Mr. Joe Mari Hernandez in 2011 as a platform to foster understanding and brotherhood among men coming from different backgrounds and to pay homage to the many yet undiscovered talents in our midst. This year, together with his other partners, Ms. Nina Khan and Mr. Avi Muller, they hope that the 2016 batch of contestants will have the same great experience, if not better with the past participants of the event and will help in transforming them to become better persons and open new doors of opportunities for them as well in the future.
