admin31th August 2018, Chennai – SKF India Limited, the leading bearing manufacturer along with the local police team of IPRE Division of Chennai police has raided major SKF bearings dealers and stamping units in the Thambu Chetty Street (Central Chennai). The raid resulted in finding out two counterfeit dealers namely Bearing & Chain Enterprises and Rudrakash Bearing Centre engaged in stamping of counterfeit SKF Bearings.
During the raid, the police officers have seized a huge quantity of duplicate bearings worth of more than 50 lacs of rupees, which were being sold in Chennai and various other parts of Southern India. Police have registered a case under Section 51(b) (i) and 63(a) of the Copyright Act, 1957.
SKF’s primary concern for such action is to maintain quality of its products as the counterfeit products are not manufactured as per industry standards and can lead to automotive failure besides injuries to consumers.
